DC/DC converter 16–32V to 12V combined with Supercap buffering

The new DC UPS module DC2412-UPSP2 with wide-range input reliably protects against critical system failures and data loss in the event of a blackout, brownout or flicker. Fast-charging and absolutely maintenance-free Supercaps (3x 480F) with more than 500,000 charging and discharging cycles are used as energy storage.

The integrable DC UPS module ensures the uninterruptible 12VDC power supply of embedded IPCs, gateways, motors, sensors, actuators, card readers, cameras, security technology, and many more.

In contrast to batteries, which store energy via a detour through a chemical reaction, Supercaps are based on electrophysical principles and are charged and ready for use within a very short time. Under comparable conditions of use, Supercaps have a service life that is up to ten times longer than classic lead-acid batteries. Our energy storage devices with Supercaps also impress with high current carrying capacity, power density and reliability.

/// Data monitoring & presetting for self-sufficient operation
With help of the UPS Control Center software, settings on the DC UPS can be made conveniently. The software can be downloaded free of charge. In addition, an extensive set of commands enables the direct reading of sensor values and the setting of parameters. The continuous acquisition of operating data allows "data monitoring" in real time. The open communication protocol offers system developers individual options for connecting the DC2412-UPSP2 to their own system.

If desired, the output or supply release to the system is regulated by a safety function, i.e. it only takes place when the supercapacitors have reached 90% of their capacity. A safe shutdown of the computer system is thus always guaranteed.

/// Shutdown & Reboot function for IPC systems

In the event of a "PowerFail", the DC UPS signals the failure via the integrated interface, so that a controlled shutdown of the computer system is initiated and valuable data can be saved. The integrated reboot function of the DC UPS automatically initiates the restart of the supplied IPC after the supply voltage has returned, without the need for costly on-site intervention by a service employee, e.g. with completely self-sufficient computer systems in inaccessible locations.
